License

Monfil is source-available under the Business Source License 1.1 from version 0.0.6. Versions before 0.0.6 stay under the MIT License.

What you can do

  • Use the official Monfil app for free, for personal use and inside your company.
  • Read, copy and change the code, and share your changes.
  • Run changed versions for personal and internal business use.

What you cannot do

  • Use the code to offer a product or service that competes with Monfil.
  • Present your build as an official Monfil release. Only releases from the official repository are official.

It becomes MIT

Each version of Monfil changes to the MIT License four years after its first release. This happens on its own, with no action from anyone.

Contributions and third-party code

New contributors sign the Contributor License Agreement before a pull request can be merged. Third-party code keeps its own licenses, listed in NOTICE.
